Keep this a practice project
This exercise is a pretend local cleaning business, not a real organization or an owner story. You may practice in Lovable using your own account, subject to its current terms and allowance. Reading this lesson does not require an account, and copying a prompt here does not build anything automatically. Do not publish the exercise or collect real customer information. If you would rather not use credits, sketch the four pages on paper and complete the same checks.
Step 1: outline four pages
Home explains the service and links to Request a Quote. Services lists routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and move-out cleaning as practice examples, without prices or promises. About says why a customer might choose the service using only approved facts, not made-up qualifications. Contact explains the next step. Write the same page names in the menu so a visitor does not have to guess where to go.
Step 2: start a small project
Open Lovable and use the current create-project option. Paste the starter prompt below. Review any questions before approving changes. When the preview is ready, visit all four pages. If a page is missing or the menu sends you to the wrong place, fix that before requesting extra decoration. Save a screenshot of the first working version with no private information.
Step 3: make contact honest
For practice, Contact can say 'Practice project — no requests accepted' and show no sending form. For a real business, supply an approved public business email and ask for an email link. That opens the visitor's email app; it does not automatically send an email or store a quote request. A web form needs a real delivery or storage setup, which is covered later. Never show 'Message sent' when nothing was sent.
Step 4: revise the first version
Read each page aloud. Remove words your customers would not use. Ask for one change at a time: shorter service descriptions, clearer heading, or a more readable menu. Use your own logo and permitted business photos when available. Keep an honest empty space or simple layout instead of adding invented staff pictures, five-star reviews, or 'licensed and insured' claims that you have not verified.
Step 5: run the visitor's journey
Start on Home, choose Services, read a description, then choose Contact. On your phone, open and close the menu and repeat the journey. Go back to Home from every page. Refresh each page directly to check that it still opens. If using a real email link later, check its destination and draft without sending a test to an unintended person. The exercise is finished when the small journey works, not when the page looks expensive.
Example prompts to copy and adapt
Replace [BRACKETS] with approved details. Use pretend information for practice, never passwords or customer records.
Cleaning-service starter prompt
Create an unpublished practice website for a pretend local cleaning service. Pages: Home, Services, About, Contact. Keep these names in the menu. Services: routine cleaning, deep cleaning, move-out cleaning, with short sample descriptions clearly labeled practice. Contact must say 'Practice project — no requests accepted'; no sending form. Use a clean readable layout on phone and computer. No accounts, payments, bookings, fabricated testimonials, prices, phone numbers, addresses, or qualifications. Main link: View Services. Preserve the practice label on every page. Do not publish.
Replace practice content later
On [PAGE], replace only [SAMPLE CONTENT] with this approved business content: [TEXT]. Keep the navigation and other pages unchanged. Flag any remaining sample details for me to review. Do not remove practice labels or publish until I have approved all final content.
A real-world example
A practice visitor wants to know whether move-out cleaning is offered. They can find it on Services, understand the sample description, and reach Contact in one clear step. Contact honestly states that this is practice, so nobody believes they have booked a cleaner.
Steps to take
- Sketch the pages or build the unpublished practice version.
- Walk through Home → Services → Contact → Home.
- Make one wording revision and repeat that journey.
- Exercise: ask someone to find move-out cleaning without telling them which menu item to choose.
- Write down one thing they found confusing and make one focused change.
